One of the most common questions parents ask is: “Is my baby too old for newborn photos?”
The truth is—there’s no such thing as “too old” for beautiful baby photography. While traditional newborn sessions are usually done in the first 14 days, I often photograph babies who are a little older. Every stage brings its own unique charm, and your photographs will still be just as meaningful.
The Best Age for Newborn Photography
Ideally, newborn photography sessions are scheduled between 5–14 days old. At this stage, babies are still very sleepy and flexible, which allows me to gently guide them into those classic curled-up poses.
But life doesn’t always go as planned—sometimes parents don’t hear about newborn photography until after their baby is born, or health and recovery mean it isn’t possible right away. That’s absolutely fine.
What If Your Baby Is a Few Weeks or Months Old?
👶 2–6 Weeks Old – Your baby may be more alert and awake, which means we capture beautiful eye contact and natural stretches instead of curled-up poses.
😊 2–3 Months Old – This is a wonderful age for capturing smiles, expressions, and the special connection between parents and baby.
🎉 4–6 Months Old (Sitter Sessions) – Once babies can hold their head up or sit with support, you’ll see lots of personality, giggles, and playful interaction.
Every stage offers something precious—you’re never too late.
