Award-Winning Photographer | Image of the Year Interational Finalist
Deborah Longmore Photography is celebrating an incredible milestone, as local photographer Deborah Longmore has been announced as a Finalist in the prestigious Guild of Photographers Image of the Year Competition 2025. This international competition is one of the most fiercely contested within the photography industry, attracting thousands of talented photographers from around the world.
The Guild of Photographers, a respected UK-based association with international membership, runs a highly competitive monthly image contest judged by globally acclaimed photography experts. Across 2025, the competition received around 9,000 entries, reflecting the high calibre of photographers who participate each year.
After rigorous judging of all monthly winners and high-scoring images, the Guild’s expert panel selected only 10 images per genre to advance to the prestigious annual Image of the Year Final. Among these elite images is one created by Deborah — an achievement reserved for only the most exceptional photographers.
A Remarkable Achievement in a World-Class Competition
Guild Director Lesley Thirsk said:
“One of the Guild’s aims is to drive standards and creativity amongst photographers. Our competition certainly does that, for the standard of the entries we see each month is quite staggering. To have an image recognised by the Guild in the monthly competition is difficult enough, so to have an image selected as being one of the best in a category for the end-of-year Final is without doubt an incredible achievement, and shows just how talented photographer, Deborah is.”
This recognition places Deborah among some of the most skilled photographers in the industry — a true testament to her artistry, dedication, and creative vision.
Deborah’s Reaction to Becoming a Finalist
Deborah shared her excitement about the announcement:
“I love photography and put a lot of effort into developing my skills. Entering the Guild of Photographers competition pushes me to grow month after month, as the standard of work is incredibly high and always inspiring. To have one of my images shortlisted as one of just 10 finalists in my category across the entire year is truly amazing. I couldn’t believe it when I found out!”
Looking Ahead to the Awards Gala
Deborah will be invited to celebrate this extraordinary achievement at the Guild of Photographers Awards Gala on 7th February 2026, where the overall winners will be announced in a spectacular evening of recognition and celebration.
