Newborn Photograhy You’ll Treasure Forever

I have a beautiful fully equipped studio in the heart of Tamworth Town Centre. Moreover, I have everything needed for your newborn photography session, including coffee and biscuits! So sit back and relax watch me gently capture some beautiful photos of your baby.

​The best time to book your newborn session is before baby arrives, anytime between 12 and 20 week scan. Once you are booked in, your due date will be penciled into my diary. I will reserve a floating date each week around your due date till baby arrives. When baby is here, please then contract me to let me know of the little ones arrival. A mutually convenient date will then be arranged.

It is due to a babies arrival being unpredictable that I limit how many newborns I book per month. I take a limited number of due dates to ensure flexibility. Your session is guaranteed, even if baby is early or late

If you specifically require a weekend session, please let me know upon booking or whilst pregnant. My weekends do get booked months in advance.

The best time to book in for your newborn session is during pregnancy to guarantee your session time.  Whilst sometimes I do have last minute availability, this is never a guarantee.

Sessions tend to be held between your baby being 5-15 days old, however, these dates are flexible. I can also offer newborn sessions up to 10 weeks.

If baby is already over 15 days old dont worry! I have photographed many older babies so this is usually not a problem at all.

Some mums prefer to wait until they feel more settled with their new baby before having photos taken. In fact, I have taken beautiful photographs of babies in a newborn style up to 10 weeks old. Dont feel you have missed out!!!!

Sessions usually can last anywhere between 2-3 hours.  Therefore, I allow time for the baby to feed, settle, and fall into a deep sleep needed for certain poses.  To enable babies to reach this point I may start your session wrapped. If baby is asleep at the start of the session then wraps are not used as often. Every baby is different, and I will go with the flow and needs of the baby.

I photograph only one full newborn session a day to allow extra time if needed.  I will, however, not photograph over 3 hours as anything longer is expecting too much of such a little person!

Importantly, newborn sessions are never rushed and we only go with what baby is happy with.

A session guide will be sent out to you prior to your session. Please avoid any tight fitting clothing on baby as these may leave markings on your baby’s skin.

Also, please dress your baby in easily removable baby grows. Your baby wearing no vest is preferred. Importantly, anything being removed over a babies head can often wake or unsettle them.

Additional supplies (such as milk, nappies) will be needed, as we may need them.

A newborn photography session guide will be sent out to you upon booking. This will enable you to have all the information ready and avaialble for you to plan your day..

A variety of cushions and support pillows will be used. These ensure that babies are always supported in no matter what position or prop.

I attempt to create something different each session, whilst maintaining my style. However, if there is a particular image of mine you do want recreating, please let me know.

I have a cute collection of outfits, wraps, hats and bears in a range of colours that I use.

When it comes to beanbag poses, I prefer to shoot babies at their most pure and innocent. If baby is wearing an outfit, I will do one pose on the beanbag in the outfit. After this, baby will be undressed for the remainder of the beanbag set. I do incorporate hats, headbands and wrap and my popular bears for baby to cuddle.

When you book your session, you will receive a session questionnaire. You can add any requirements to this.  This information will enable me to create something for you.

You can either go with multiple colours to suit your home or choose just one colour throughout the session.

Yes! Family images can be as posed or as relaxed as you wish. Dresses are available for use. Or even go for a classic silhouette.  These are your images of your family!

Please never feel forced to have parent images but it would be a shame to miss out on the memories.

Some mums like to use my gowns in the session. If you wish to do this, please let me know before arrival so I can ensure the dress is ready.

I always try my best to help your baby relax and fall into a deep, peaceful sleep. 

Very rarely, some babies just do not sleep. If this is the case, we will take some beautiful awake images of your baby. If your baby is unusually unsettled, however, we can easily reschedule for a nearby date when they’re more at ease. This has not happened yet – touch wood!

After years as a mobile newborn photographer, I’ve found a studio environment works best for newborn sessions.  Everything is on hand to ensure your baby will be safe and comfortable. All props are available and interchangeable if baby doesn’t settle or the colours don’t suit them.

Many returning clients from my “mobile days” have enjoyed the experience of the studio visit far more. They prefer the studio to having their home disrupted with with lots of props and equipment.

Being in a studio environment also means I will have sets ready for your arrival based on your quetionnaire. Because of this, all the focus is on baby (always a cuddle first).

Yes! I have a large variety of outfits, beanbag fabrics, furs etc. You can either chose multiple colours for your session or go for one colour to make a more cohesive gallery.

This is a common question. Many clients like to see what can be acheived at a session. For this reason, I have a few examples of galleries where client have given me permission to share images. These are not full galleries but show one image from each set/pose etc. These can show what can be acheived from a session.

Of course! I have had some clients want to focus on their growing family as opposed to the new addition. In this instance, more family images than baby will be taken.

Therefore, please let me know on booking what you would like your main focus to be.

Upon booking, a questionnaire will be sent to you that will ask for your consent. Around 80-90% of my clients ask me not to share images on social media/website.
