Why book Deborah Longmore Photography?
I shouldn’t say it, but I will!!!! These are by far my favourite sessions. What better way to capture your child growing and their little personalities.
I am fully qualified with the Guild of Photographers and now hold the status as a Craftsman in Newborn and Baby Photography with them and even tailored a whole panel of 20 images around babies aged between 6 and 12 months.
When is the best time for a baby session?
These baby sessions are ideal for babies up to 12 months and they are a great way to capture milestones. The best time for a baby session is when baby is sitting confidently and without support. The main reason for baby to be able to sit unaided and confidently is to allow us to use some props such as chairs or stools. For these images I always ask that a parent sits close to baby to ensure the are safe at all times.
Baby and “sitter” sessions are perfect for babies aged ideally between 6-12 months when they are not yet crawling or walking but are able to sit unaided. However, whether they are younger and not yet sitting, or older and are on the move crawling or walking we can capture some wonderful images.
Babies develop such wonderful personalities and traits as they grow. They are full of smiles and laughter. These sessions can be very quick and fast pasted to keep baby entertained and engaged and therefore hopefully a lot of fun. However for the more shy child, don’t worry! These sessions can last up to 1.5 hours to make sure that a child is comfortable and at ease.
I believe it is so important to capture these special times and to capture those special personalities. Time flies so quickly and before you know it, you have a toddler on your hands and those baby days are gone!
What will baby wear?
I have a number of little outfits in a variety of colours that are perfect for babies between 6-12 months. If there is something you would like however please do let me know.
You also do not have to use my outfits should you not want to and of course you are welcome to have the session and images as relaxed or as styled as you wish.
If you wish to incorporate a theme to your images this can be done also. Whether it be a little chef, little painter, little teddy bears picnic we can incorporate your theme into your session to make something truly unique for you and your little one.
I am a great believer that any baby or child photography session should be fun. If your little one loves to do something then why not add this to your session. The choices are endless and its always fun creating something magical that reflects your baby.
What if my baby doesnt smile?
Whilst any parent wants beautiful smiley photos (and we will aim to get those), what your baby will do is be themselves! You will get those unique faces that depict them, and only them! I love seeing how little ones engage with me, and whether it is full beaming smiles, pulling faces or even a frown sometimes, that is their little character and something that should not be missed!!!

Eva helped me model the set to make sure I had it all set up OK, she tossed the fabric like a master and more importantly she loved it!!!

This beautiful mamma-to-be wasn't sure a big flooffy dress would suit her. We had already used some more fitted dresses. I said try it on anyway see how you feel. I think she looks stunning!!!! I have already shown her how amazing she looks and asked for permission to post this image.
