When you book a session with me, whether it’s a glowing maternity shoot, a newborn session full of tiny toes and sleepy smiles, or a joyful family portrait, it’s always my goal to create a safe, relaxed space where you feel completely comfortable. That goes beyond just the shoot itself—it includes how your images are handled afterwards, too. So how do I handle with image sharing consent
One question I often receive from clients is:
“Can we ask you not to share our photos online?”
And the answer is simple: Absolutely. 100%. Always.
Image Client Consent – Your Wishes Are Fully Respected
At Deborah Longmore Photography, I deeply understand that some clients prefer to keep their images private. Whether it’s for personal, cultural, or safety reasons—or simply because you’d rather keep those special moments just for yourselves—your wishes are always respected without question.
Clear Communication Before Your Session
To ensure everything is clear from the very beginning, I send out a pre-session questionnaire ahead of your photoshoot. This includes a dedicated section where you can let me know if you’re happy for images to be shared on social media or on my website—or if you’d prefer them to remain completely private.
This step helps avoid any misunderstandings and ensures that I can plan accordingly when editing and handling your images. If you tick “no” on the sharing section, that’s exactly what happens: your images stay private, full stop.
GDPR & Your Rights
As a professional photographer based in the UK, I fully comply with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) standards. That means:
📸 I only collect the data I need to carry out your session and deliver your images.
🔐 Your personal information and photographs are stored securely.
✍️ I will never use or share your images without your explicit written consent.
🗂️ You have the right to access, amend, or request deletion of your data and images at any time.
